In a season filled with franchise firsts, the Olney Cropdusters have reached another historic milestone.

For the first time in team history, the Cropdusters are headed to the CRSCBL League Championship Finals.

Olney completed a two-game semifinal sweep of the Metro SoCo Braves by earning a 3–1 victory Saturday night at First Responder Field and finishing the job with a 4–2 road win Sunday in Lorton, Virginia.

The Cropdusters are now 2–0 in the postseason and just two victories away from bringing the first league championship home to Olney.

The semifinal series opened Saturday night at First Responder Field, where the Cropdusters received another outstanding performance from left-hander Kyle Rogers.

Olney held a narrow lead as the game moved into the late innings before adding two important insurance runs on a Brian Scott ground ball, giving the Cropdusters the separation they needed to secure a 3–1 victory.

The win put Olney one victory away from advancing and gave the team an opportunity to clinch the series on the road Sunday night.

Olney Completes the Sweep on the Road

The Cropdusters traveled to Lorton knowing a victory would send them directly to the League Championship Finals.

Once again, it took a complete team effort.

Brian Scott and Cade Ahearn each drove in two runs, providing all four of Olney’s RBIs. On the mound, Nolan Ross delivered a scoreless outing to earn the victory before Ben Jones closed the game and recorded the save.

The Cropdusters defeated the Braves 4–2, completing the semifinal sweep and securing the first championship appearance in franchise history.

Championship Baseball Comes to Olney

The Cropdusters entered the postseason after winning the CRSCBL North Division Championship, capturing the Regular Season Championship and earning the No. 1 overall seed.

That top seed guarantees Olney home-field advantage in the Finals.

The Cropdusters will host Game 1 of the CRSCBL League Championship Finals on Tuesday, July 28, against the winner of the Bethesda Big Train–Southern Maryland Senators semifinal series. Olney would also host Game 3, if necessary.

The final step will not be easy, but this team has shown throughout the summer that it can win in different ways—through timely hitting, dependable pitching and a commitment to playing together.

Now, the Cropdusters return home with an opportunity to complete the most successful season in franchise history.
